What you need

cup basmati rice

tsp salt

onion

in cinnamon

green cardamoms

clove

tsp fennel seed

tsp cumin seed
bay leaf

tbsp ginger garlic paste

tsp turmeric powder
tbsp oil

tsp garam masala

star anise

tbsp fresh coriander leaves
Instructions
1: In a pressure cooker add the soaked channa along with water and salt. 2: Pressure cook for 3 whistles and set aside. 3: In a pot pour oil and add all the whole garam masalas, once aromatic add the sliced onions and saute until the onions turn translucent, add the chilli powder and turmeric powder. 4: Add the soaked rice and saute gently for 30 seconds and pour water and bring it to a boil. 5: Add the drained channa and add it on top of the rice, sprinkle garam masala on top and cover. 6: Cook for 12 minutes on a simmer, once cooked garnish with coriander leaves and serve.View original recipe
