What you need

cup water
tbsp groundnut oil

tsp mustard seed

tsp cumin

tsp fenugreek seeds

tbsp black peppercorn

curry leaves
green chilli

shallot

clove garlic

tomato

tsp red chilli

tsp coriander powder

cup water

tsp salt

oz anchovy

tbsp fresh coriander leaves
Instructions
1: Heat a pan, add groundnut oil. 2: Add mustard, cumin, fenugreek, black peppercorns, and let it crackle. 3: Add curry leaves, green chillies, and let it crackle for a few more seconds. 4: Add the garlic cloves and sauté for a few seconds. 5: Add the shallots and sauté till it turns translucent. 6: Add the tomatoes and sauté for 2 minutes. 7: Add the masala powders and mix for a minute. 8: Cook the tomatoes till they turn mashy. 9: Add water and bring it to a boil. 10: Dissolve the tamarind and add the water to the mixture and mix gently. 11: Add the fish. 12: Add salt, mix well. 13: Cover and cook the mixture for 5 minutes. 14: Bring the mixture to a boil, add coriander leaves, and take it off the flame. 15: Garnish with coriander leaves and serve it hot with rice.View original recipe
