What you need

tsp coconut oil

tbsp coconut
dried chilli

tsp cumin seed
tsp asafoetida
oz runner beans

oz beans

drumstick

cup moong beans

cup water

tsp salt

tsp turmeric powder

curry leaves

tbsp coconut oil

tsp urad dal

tsp mustard seed
Instructions
1: Roast the urad dal until golden brown, then add the dry red chilli and saute for 10 seconds. 2: Turn off the flame and add grated coconut and cumin seeds, give it a good mix and blend into a fine paste (add water if needed). 3: In a pressure cooker add moong dal, turmeric powder, water and drumsticks. 4: Pressure cook for 3 whistles on a moderate flame and set aside until the pressure releases. 5: In a kadhai add the boiled dal and chopped vegetables, add salt and cook until the vegetables are tender. 6: Add the ground paste and curry leaves and cook for 2 minutes or until the raw flavour disappears. 7: In a tadka pan add oil, mustard seeds and let it crackle, add urad dal after that and add it to the kootu.View original recipe
