What you need

cup water

tsp red chilli flakes

tsp soy sauce
fl oz oil

tsp vinegar

tbsp honey

bunch spring onion

tbsp tomato ketchup

tsp corn flour

tsp sesame seed
lotus root

tbsp garlic

tsp chili sauce
Instructions
1: Peel the skin of the lotus stem and slice thinly. Soak them in water and drain. 2: Dust the stems with cornflour, maida, and salt to form a coating. 3: Heat oil in a deep frying pan and deep fry on medium-high heat until it is crispy and golden. Drain and keep aside. 4: In a pan, heat oil, add chopped garlic, chilli flakes, sesame seeds. Saute until the garlic is golden brown. 5: Add tomato ketchup, vinegar, soy sauce, red chilli sauce, salt, honey and stir to make a sauce. 6: Mix 1 tsp of cornflour with 2 tbsp of water to form a slurry. Add the cornflour mixture to the pan and mix. 7: Once the sauce thickens, add the fried stems. Stir fry for 2 mins. 8: Garnish with chopped spring onions and sesame seeds.View original recipe
