What you need
fl oz oil

tsp salt

tbsp curry leaves

tsp ginger

cup water
tbsp green chilli

tsp black peppercorn
pinch asafoetida

tsp cumin seed

Instructions
1: To a large bowl, add the Maida. 2: Add curd and ½ cup of water and mix until there are no lumps. 3: Add the hing, ginger, green chilli, curry leaves, black peppercorn and cumin seeds. 4: Beat for 4-5 minutes using your hands to make the batter fluffy and slightly stretchy. 5: Mix well, and rest for 15 minutes at room temperature. 6: Add baking soda and water, and mix to combine. 7: Using wet hands, take small portions (around 1-2 tbsp) of the batter and drop it into hot oil. 8: Deep fry until it turns golden brown and is floating in the oil. 9: Remove from the oil and serve hot with coconut chutney.View original recipe
