What you need

cup water
tsp oil

tbsp ghee

garlic

tsp salt

tomato
tamarind

tsp turmeric powder

tsp mustard seed

tsp cumin seed

tbsp fresh coriander leaves

cup rice

cup dal
Instructions
1: Soak tamarind in 1 Cup of water and extract the tamarind juice. 2: Wash the rice and dal, and keep aside. 3: Heat a pressure cooker, add oil, chopped tomatoes, crushed garlic pods, turmeric powder, rasam powder, salt. 4: Add the tamarind juice, rice and dal. 5: Pressure cook this adding 6 Cups of Water for 6 whistles. 6: Open the pressure cooker and mash the rasam rice. Add chopped coriander leaves and mix. 7: In another pan, add 2 tsp of ghee, mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let it splutter and then remove it from the heat. 8: Add the tempered mixture to the mashed rasam rice.View original recipe
