Celebrate Ganesha Chathurthi with a delicious twist on traditional modak, featuring a rich choco-lava filling. This enticing recipe combines ingredients like milk, cocoa powder, and nutritious almonds, resulting in a delightful treat you can enjoy during the festive season.

1: Heat milk in a sauce pan and switch it off when it comes to a simmer. 2: Add the sugar, cocoa powder, chocolate and vanilla essence. Mix well until it is dissolved. 3: In a pan, add butter and roast the rava until aromatic, about 5 mins on a low-medium flame. 4: Add the powdered almonds and mix well. 5: On a simmer, add the chocolate milk mixture and cook until the liquid has been absorbed. 6: Finish with butter and mix well. 7: Transfer to a plate to cool and knead the mixture until it is smooth. 8: Grease a modak mold with ghee, add some of the mixture and make a cavity in the middle. 9: Fill with nutella or filling of your choice in the middle and place more mixture to seal it. 10: Press into the mold well and then carefully de-mold. Garnish with silver leaf/cocoa powder or powdered sugar or nuts.
