A delightful sweet and spicy recipe for Honey Chilli Lotus Stems. This dish features lotus stems that are dusted and deep-fried, then tossed in a flavorful sauce made with garlic, tomato ketchup, and honey. Perfect as a starter or appetizer.

1: Peel the skin of the lotus stem and slice thinly. Soak them in water and drain. 2: Dust the stems with cornflour, maida, and salt to form a coating. 3: Heat oil in a deep frying pan and deep fry on medium-high heat until it is crispy and golden. Drain and keep aside. 4: In a pan, heat oil, add chopped garlic, chilli flakes, sesame seeds. Saute until the garlic is golden brown. 5: Add tomato ketchup, vinegar, soy sauce, red chilli sauce, salt, honey and stir to make a sauce. 6: Mix 1 tsp of cornflour with 2 tbsp of water to form a slurry. Add the cornflour mixture to the pan and mix. 7: Once the sauce thickens, add the fried stems. Stir fry for 2 mins. 8: Garnish with chopped spring onions and sesame seeds.
